Technology

In an effort to educate the whole child, the school embraces technology as a tool to motivate, stimulate and educate. The school computers throughout the building are networked to provide increased opportunities for both students and staff.  Upgraded again in the summer of 2011 with a thin client system, there are enough computers in the computer lab for every student in a class to work on one individually.  Youngsters in grades one and two are introduced to the computer through some learning games.  Second graders experience the Keyboard First program as an introduction to word processing.  Third grade students have mastering correct word-processing skills as a component of their daily curriculum.  Children in grades 4-8 not only continue their instruction in technology but also use it as a resource in their work in other curriculum areas. There are also computers in every classroom, and half of the classrooms have Smartboards in them now with a goal to have them in every classroom by 2012-2013.
